A football legends quiz, one question at a time
The Legends deck is a football legends quiz played as higher or lower. Instead of a list of questions, you get two players and a hidden number, over and over, and the question keeps changing under you. It's for anyone who grew up arguing about who was better, and wants to find out who really had the numbers.
Who's in the deck
Every player in the Legends deck has retired from playing. You'll meet the names everyone knows, like Pelé, Diego Maradona, Johan Cruyff, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo Nazário and Ronaldinho, and the modern greats who have since hung up their boots, like Thierry Henry, Andrea Pirlo, Andrés Iniesta, Steven Gerrard and Gianluigi Buffon. Alongside them are the defenders, goalkeepers and holding midfielders who were on the team sheet every week but rarely in the headlines.
The deck keeps growing. If someone's missing, use Suggest a legend at the bottom of any page. Retired players only.
What you'll be asked
The basic stats come up most often: club goals, international caps, club appearances and Instagram followers. Highest transfer fee and international goals are less common, and the rare ones are club trophies, international trophies, clubs played for and age. When the wheel lands on a rare stat, the plaque turns its colour, so you know the question has got harder to guess.
Not every stat suits every player. Goalkeepers are never asked about goals, age only comes up for living players, and a player who never moved for a fee is left out of transfer fee questions. The about page sets out exactly what each stat counts.
Knowing your legends
Fame will only get you so far here. The deck rewards a particular kind of knowledge: how long a player's career lasted, how often they scored for their country, what a club once paid for them, and how many medals they came home with. A striker everyone remembers can lose on appearances to a full-back who simply never missed a game, and a quiet playmaker can outrank a superstar on trophies.
